I’m in the mood to share my fabric picks for 2 recent crib size quilt orders.  I think both moms did a really great job thinking about colors and themes.  Luckily, I was able to find the right fabric, always the tricky part.  I’m happy to get started quilting.  I’ve been M.I.A. recently due to some major home improvements.  Hooray for fresh paint & new hardwood floors!  Goodbye to stained yucky carpet, forever.  Good Riddance!

Where was I?

Oh yeah, I’m happy to get back to the sewing machine.  I also have two 12″ red & aqua squares to donate to my first Quilting Bee.  That will be first on the agenda as they are due next week…yikes!  So while I chop & stitch, I hope you have fun viewing the arrival of my newest fabrics.  Thank heavens for online fabric shops & USPS.  There is something magical about little packages full of fabric.  Quite yummy!

Last night I managed to finish this lovely quilting project on the commercial breaks of Fox/So You This You Can Dance. I spent 2 hours attaching binding prior to the much anticipated 7:00 o’clock hour.  Oh I do love a good dance show.

I can’t believe it’s completed.  Honestly I never imagined this would be done in time.  This should have taken a lot longer.  One week to go before the wedding and I’m finished.

Finito!  Shocked!  Relieved.

Phase 1 Completed

Phase 1 is probably just thinking up this crazy quilt, but you get my point.  I have completed the middle top of the quilt as of midnight June 3, 2009.  What a task!  This part was hard.  Figuring out where to put what and make it flow correctly was harder than I expected.  A few tries later I had it where I wanted.

Now onto the jean boarder and colorful binding.

Here it is…
