♥ Happy Birthday Sarah!

You are wonderful and I adore you.  Hoping you love your snazzy eco bowl covers.  No more foil or icky plastic wrap for you.  Next time you are invited to a potluck, I hope you walk in with an extra bounce in your step.

These salad bowl covers are a breeze to make and very functional.  I can’t remember exactly where I saw them first, but here are some easy directions to follow.  Thank you Allyson Hill!

Oh, sweet completion.  This quilt has taken me a “Robin’s Record” of 2-3 months as opposed to my normal 4 week turn time.  What gives?  Regardless, isn’t it lovely?  If I do say so myself and I do.  Mommy to be picked some great colors of mango and avocado.  Finding fabric was a breeze and everything jived nicely.  Kyngston’s name is placed on the surf board where a brand name might be.  Too cute!

I’ve seduced mommy into my shop by asking her to pick between two fabrics so I can finish the quilt.  Silly mommy, it’s done!  I hope she loves it and just maybe it’ll push her into labor.  Ha, that would be something.

Wishing mommy a quick and special delivery.  I can’t wait to meet baby Kyngston is just 3 short weeks!

Bundled up & ready to go ♥

The charity bee I’m involved with assigns 2 12 1/2″ squares per month.  Each month a different quilter chooses the type of quilt and sends out directions to the stitchers…that’s me!  September’s mission was a tree quilt.  We were allowed to be as creative as possible.  The only real requirement was to use Kona White as a background to the tree block.  Here are my contributions:

Tree Birds

Neighborhood Tree

The “Neighborhood Tree” was tricky.  Well, not really, but I had to play with numbers for a while before I started cutting.  I pride myself on my math ability, so I was disheartened when I feel 1/2″ short on both sides.  Big bummer.  So, I simply added more Kona White trim and cut to 12 1/2″ squares.  I’m such a perfectionist, that I would have started over if I had enough Kona White.  Alas, I didn’t…ugh!  And on second thought, I really should have added a swing…double ugh.

October’s quilt is Wonky Log Cabin in purple and orange.  I’ll definitely need to dig deep for purple and orange scraps.  Those colors aren’t what I normally gravitate towards, but it’ll be fun.  It’s great to be pushed out of my routine!

The crazy patch squares are complete…hooray!  If you only knew how long it is taking me to accomplish baby quilts these days you’d be skipping too!  The fabric colors and prints are so perfect.  I am really enjoying creating this quilt.   Not to mention, so excited to get the top sewn together and applique the giant surf board.  This is gonna rock the socks off Kyngston’s mama, which is exactly the plan!

::Vintage Surf:: Crazy Patch Squares

I picked up 100% organic sandy cotton fabric for the sashing.  You need to understand how incredibly perfect it’s going to be.  The brown flecks sprinkled throughout the taupe is indicative of the sandy beach.  Aw, I love when that happens.

Can’t get any better than perfect!
