A long time friend called me the other week. She runs a wonderful Montessori School in Pahoa, HI. She was wondering if we would be able to donate some material to the school. Specifically 2 sink countertops. My family owns, Jay’s Custom Cabinets, so it was no surprise she called me. We do a lot of countertop business on the island and it was certainly possible to find some pieces that might fit her criteria. We did. It worked out.
We were forwarded a very short but sweet blog post from Damon Tucker who writes about his local Pahoa community. I watched my father smile proudly. He makes the final decision on donations. I would give away everything if it were up to me the “Recycle Queen”. Hopefully he’ll now be more inspired. A girl can hope. It feels good doing nice things for others. The right thing in fact.
